Like Tortilla Chips.
Yeah yeah. I CrazyPants. I know this. You probably do to (don’t answer that).
I’m the girl who buys tortillas and makes her own tortilla chips outta them.
I think they taste better than those bagged kinds. Sure it takes forever and a day, and I burn at least a pan of them every time I make them – but, like I said, I CrazyPants.
Here’s what you do: Cut the tortillas in wedges or strips. Lay them out on a baking sheet. Shpritz them with a baking spray (I use generic Pam) and then sprinkle them with seasoning. After many trials I’ve decided that I like the ones seasoned with Old Bay best. Surprising, I KNOW! But hey – if it works, it works!

Homemade Tortilla Chips by CrazyPants Me
Ingredients:
Tortillas
Baking Spray (aka Pam)
Seasonings – I like Old Bay best.
How To:
1- Oven to 375º.
2- Cut the tortillas into wedges or strips. Lay them out on baking sheets. Shpritz the tray with your baking spray. Sprinkle your seasoning over all your chips.
3- Whack the pan in the oven and bake for 6-8 minutes, then rotate the pans (to ensure better browning), and bake for another few minutes. Keep an eye on your pans!! Use my experience as a lesson: These puppies can burn quite quickly, so DON’T wander too far away after you turn the pans!
Voila! Enjoy!
Homemade tortilla chips are great! I’ve made them before and while they do take up a bit of time compared to just buying from the convenience store, they sure are worth it!
happy holidays!
